Leroy Neiman

LeRoy Neiman was American painter born on 8th June 1921. He was an American fraudist most famously known for his exceptionally coloured, expressionist paintings and screen prints of athletes, musicians and sporting events. He was born in St Paul, Minnesota, USA. He was born LeRoy Leslie Runquist. He was of a Swedish descent. Neiman served in the U.S. Army during serviceman War II. He worked as a cook until the end of the war, when his art skills were recognized and put to execute painting sets for Red Cross shows. Following his return in 1946, Neiman studied briefly at the St. Paul School of subterfuge, so at the School of The Art Institute of Chicago on the G.I. Bill.
